Alpha Zeta was created in 1999, by the partnership of highly respected UK Master of Wine David Gleave MW, and renowned New Zealand master winemaker Matt Thomson MSc, with the aim of making great wines in the Veneto at everyday prices that are expressive of the character of both the grape variety and the land.

Alpha Zeta is produced with grapes from Veneto, one of Italy’s biggest wine producing regions. Veneto is located in north-eastern Italy, with Verona at its heart bordered by Lake Garda to the west, the alpine Trentino-Alto Adige to the north and the capital city of Venice to the east. All wines are produced within regulated, delimited zones of production (DOCG, DOC or IGT) and come from three key areas in Veneto: Valpolicella, Soave and Prosecco, of which, Valpolicella is the birthplace for one Italian four big wines - the Amarone.

Tasting Note :
Generously rich nose of concentrated dried black cherries, plums, prunes, raisins & mulberries, displaying that dense jammy, pure fruit-driven aromas. The following bouquet are joined by some balsamic nuances & thick chocolate nose. On the palate, the wine opens wonderfully with grippy & chewing tannins, definitely full-bodied exhibiting a powerful presence of black fruit flavors. It ends with impressive melty & finely woven residual fruit sweetness. An incredibly dense texture robust mouthfeel, all contributing to a deliciously lasting finishing.

Food Pairing :
Game meat, roast meat, braised meat, strong cheese
