This is a family-run port wine producer based in Vila Nova da Gaia and the Douro Valley of Portugal. Descended from six generations of Douro producers, Johnny Graham founded his own Churchill's port winery in 1981 at just 29 years old. He dedicated himself to bring a unique style to be called his own, by creating a fresh vibe to the traditional world of port yet maintaining elegance, freshness and keeping as natural as possible with minimal intervention. Since then, the winery has produced a world-class roster of vintage ports, ruby and wood aged selections too, all of which, started from their beloved vineyard in Quinta da Gricha, truly reflect the Douro terroir and capturing the spirit of the region.
Tasting Note:
Tawny port is an art of blending. We work with time, wood, and experience to find a balance between the concentration of age and the freshness of youth.
This tawny port has been aged in seasoned oak casks for an average of 20 years, smoothing the tannins and revealing layers of complexity. Awake and full of finesse, Churchill’s 20 Years Old Tawny is savory and rich with a good grip through the finish.
Pale red tawny with a golden rim, with a delicate nose of almonds and red Moreno cherries. Savoury and rich without losing its grip; a combination of age and finesse, finishing long and fresh.
Food Pairing:
Blue cheese, foie gras, chocolate cheesecake, ham, roasted nuts & dried fruits. Best served at cellar temperature (12º - 14ºC).

"It takes time to build up the stocks in order to establish a good and consistent twenty years old tawny. After forty years in the business, Johnny Graham has certainly got it right and he claims that it is one of his favorite styles of Port. It's mine too! Pale amber-pink in hue, seductive fresh summer fruit on the nose with just a touch of savory complexity, gloriously soft and creamy in texture with a dusting of tannin, freshness and verve playing on a long, lingering finish. Wonderful balance and poise overall."
