About Deep Blue:
"Grace Vineyard Deep Blue" is a very personal wine for Judy. When She began at Grace Vineyard at 24 years old, she felt as though she was trying to survive in a vast ocean. Instead of being discouraged by the challenge ahead of her, she was inspired and strengthened (and a bit terrified!). The Book Blue Ocean Strategy showed her that being an outsider could be a strength, not a weakness, and helped her chart a course that she has been on ever since and this wine is named in the book's honor. In 2008, Grace Vineyard Deep Blue was available to in-flight services of Cathay Pacific Airways first class and business class.

About the origins of the Grapes:

Fruits for the Deep Blue are source from Grace Vineyard's low yielding and self-managing estates in Shanxi & Ningxia. The wine's characteristics will always be a cross-regional blend within the two wine producing regions. Depending on the harvesting condition for each year, which sees both vineyards perform and contribute differently, thou making the perfect blending of the wine very challenging yet satisfying, fulfilling and filled with enjoyment.

For this 2019 Deep Blue Red Blend, saw a rather dry & cold vintage for Ningxia which offers good acidity & softness in the blend. Whereas in Shanxi, the year was unusually warm yet dry, hence resulting in the wine with remarkable structure, texture fullness & freshness.

Tasting Note :
Ripe cassis, plums and blue / black fruits are some of the signature characteristics from this harvest. The 15% new French oak as the supporting component sits together with the fruits profile rather than masking the wines. Merlot always an important (and key) component for this wine, as contributor to flavor such as plums, dark cherries, chocolate hint & juiciness profile on the palate. The palate texture is dense with sweet plummy fruits and packed with great amount of well define tannin & acidity.

Food Pairing :
Big juicy steak or Wagyu beef, rich mutton stew, roasted game meat.
