Jia Bei Lan is a renowned red wine from the Helan Qingxue winery, located in Ningxia, China. The wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Gernicht, which the latter is believed to be related to Cabernet Franc or Carmenere.
The 2009 vintage of Jia Bei Lan made history by winning the International Trophy (Best in Show) at the 2011 Decanter World Wine Awards. This was a breakthrough moment for Chinese wine on the global stage. The wine was chosen from among 12,000 entries and was the overall Trophy winner in the Bordeaux Blend Category.

This red is described as deep cherry in color, with an incredibly complex nose of mint, fresh blackcurrant, vanilla, leather, cigar box, and black truffle.
