A gem, with an exceptional terroir, the Rimapere vineyard is located in the Rapaura subregion, a prime spot for growing Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The cool climate of this area gives the grapes a fresh and crisp taste, with hints of lemon and grapefruit. The soil is rich and well-drained, thanks to the ancient rivers that used to flow through the valley. The vineyard practices sustainable and organic farming, allowing the natural vegetation and microorganisms to thrive. The vines are about 15 years old, which adds depth and complexity to the grapes.

The vineyard was bought in 2012 by Baron Benjamin de Rothschild, a descendant from one of the most famous and influential European banking dynasties, wanted to make a Sauvignon Blanc that would impress any wine lover. The name ‘Rimapere’ means ‘five arrows’ in Maori, which is also the symbol of the Rothschild family. The five arrows represent the founding brothers who started the Rothschild business empire, following their father Mayer Amschel Rothschild.

Tasting Note:
This is a remarkably refreshing white that displays purity of fruits, elegance and truly reflects its origins. A delightfully fruit-driven wine exuberating aromatic notes of passionfruit, guava, green apples & citrus, while on the palate, burstful of flavors with minerality and lemon zest. Clean, bright and persistent finishing.

Food Pairing:
Perfect by itself or pairs well with white meat dishes, grilled or with sauces. Lobsters, scallops, snow crabs, all will match ideally with freshness of the wine.
